How To Get Leighton Meester’s Makeup Look. Leighton Meester aka Blair off Gossip Girl always has a glowing look to her complexion. Ever wonder what makeup she uses to get that radiant glow? Look below to find out how.

* Cheeks: Give yourself a burst of glowing color on the cheeks with a creamy-textured blush. I like Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color in Tropical Peach ($6).
* Lips: Add a little spice to your lips with a soft, warm shade with orange undertones. Try Stila Lip Glaze in Cinnamon ($22) or CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers Lip Gloss in Tangerine Splash ($5).
* Eyes: Apply a glittery or shimmery copper shadow to the lids, such as Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Chopper ($16). Next, apply a rich brown shadow to the crease and blend, using this same shade to lightly line around the eyes for emphasis. Try L’Oreal Wear Infinite Single Eye Shadow in Deep Mocha ($4.25). Add a little brownish-black mascara, and you’ll be good to go.

MAC Hello Kitty Collection. Guess what, ladies?  The Cut mentioned months ago that a MAC and Hello Kitty collection may have been in the works and Women’s Wear Daily just officially broke that the new MAC collaboration with this cute kitty will hit stores and counters in the United States on February 12, 2009!!

What’s even bigger is that our very own Jeannie was able to get a sneak peak at the collection a couple of days ago and hear all about it straight from top MAC collaborators, James Gager (Sr. VP and Creative Director), Jennifer Balbier (Sr. VP of Product Development) and Gordon Espinet (VP of Makeup Artistry).

But while we can’t spill all the beans on the goodies she saw just yet, here’s a first look into what you’ll see from the collection straight from the WWD article online:

The Hello Kitty offerings fall into two collections: the Hello Kitty Colour Collection and the more high-end Hello Kitty Kouture.

The bulk of the items are in the former category: six shades of lipstick with names like Fashion Mews and Strayin’, each $14; six Lipglass shades, each $14; and two tinted lip conditioners, $14.50 each; two eye shadow palettes, which each contain four shades and retail for $38; two shades of pigment are $19.50 each, and two Reflects Glitter stockkeeping units — one blue, one pink — are $17.50 each. Four Glitter Eye Liners, each $16.50, two shades of Beauty Powder, each $22; three shades of nail polish, each $11; a black mascara, $12, and false lashes, $12, round out the color offerings. Shades range from pinks and turquoises to lavenders and greens.

Hello Kitty Kouture is intended to be the high end of the collection. Two shades of Dazzleglass, each $28, each feature a reusable silver chain pendant with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals on black with a pink crystal bow. Sheer Mystery Powder, $90 and available in three shades, is packaged in a silver powder compact with Hello Kitty outlined in white Swarovski crystals with a pink crystal bow on a black background.

Hello Kitty Colour Collection will be available in stores and on counters while Hello Kitty Kouture will be available at MAC stores and at maccosmetics.com only.   So mark your calendars, ladies, because this collection might be an even bigger hit than MAC’s Barbie collabo from two years ago.

Holiday Gift Guide: Teens. Holiday Gift Ideas for Teens

I realize there’s a huge difference between a 13-year old’s likes and those of an 18-year old, so rather than grasp at straws I based this gift guide on the preferences of someone right in between: my 15-year old cousin B.

Bare Escentuals Tutorials - The Rocker Eye ($38) 95% of teenagers at the mall seem to be sporting the black-rimmed eye! This kit from Bare Escentuals takes it up a notch and helps create a really gorgeous smokey rocker eye. Much, much better than a thick circle of Blacktrack, and more fun, too.

Amazing Makeup in Just 5 Minutes! Sometimes you find yourself in a rush and it’s not always easy to finish up your makeup and have it look good as well. If you go to work or to school early in the morning, you might not want to spend 20 minutes on your makeup, but here’s some amazing looks you can do yourself in just under 5 minutes. Not only are these looks fast and easy, but they’ll have you look like a goddess- pronto!

If there is one thing I hate in the morning, it’s getting ready. I wish they would just invent a makeup mask that you can just put on your face, and ta-da! Well, they’ve probably already invented that and I just don’t know about it -so let me know if you’ve heard anything! Whether you’re a smokey eye fan or you just like the subtle look these following faces will have you screaming for joy either way. Keep reading to find out!

SIMPLE AND SHEER

This look is for the makeup minimalist, and perfect for during the day. What you need is a rosy-pink blush and lip balm. For a dewy glow, dab a lip balm on cheeks, inner eye corners and lips of course. Next, fill out your brows and brush them upwards. With a simple, fresh look it’s crucial that your brows look perfect and groomed. And honestly, this won’t take you 5 minutes!

PRETTY IN PINK

If you’re a fan of bright, red lipstick, think about going a little different today. Instead, try a fuschia lipstick, which is more fun and playful anyways. Start by lining your lips with a magenta colored lip pencil to prevent color bleeding. Fuschia is a color that is not only versatile, but works great on girls with dark or fair hair. To balance out this bold look, swipe on a lengthening mascara and voila you have pretty in pink lips and to-die-for lashes.

THE NEW SMOKEY EYE

If you’re a fan of the smokey eye, but don’t necessarily have time to do it in the morning, here’s the new and improved smokey eye on the rush! Bold, black colors can turn out horrible on bad days, so you have to step it down a notch and incorporate easier-to-wear colors, such as gray hues. Start by filling in the upper lashes with a gray pencil and drag out the line at the outer corners of the eye to create a slightly winged shape. Smudge a bit of gray shadow along the lower lash line and you don’t even need mascara to boot. You can call this look the “during the day smokey eye”.

VIOLETS

Pretty purples and violets are the it colors this season, so it’s no wonder that they’re ending up on our eyes as well. To warm up the purple shadow, blend some peach blush with a hint of shimmer high on the cheekbone and up to the lids. If you put on too much, you can end up looking dated. A touch of iridescence gives skin a youthful luminosity. Instead of going for the traditional nude lip, try a salmon color for more excitement.

GOLDEN GIRL

This is another version of the smokey eye and it’s perfect for a rushed night out or whatever you’re in the mood for. Start by dotting black pencil between the lashes and line the lower inner rims. Then blend the liner with a slick black gloss for a super sexy effect. For the final touch, blend a dab of lip balm with a gold shadow and gild the inner eye corners. This will open up your eyes a thousand times!

Get The Look: Leighton’s Trendy Red-Orange Lipstick.

Love it or hate it, Leighton Meester’s right on trend wearing a semi-matte, deep-hued lipstick. As this Gossip Girl demonstrates, in order to pull off a so-bold-it-could-stop-traffic kind of color, it’s best to keep the rest of your makeup toned down as to not overwhelm the look.

So, is a sassy red-orange lipstick something you might want to duplicate for Fall 2008 and beyond? If so, follow these tips on how to keep such a saucy color saucy, along with some department and drugstore finds to boot:

• Apply lip liner in a shade similar to your lipstick. Outline, following the natural shape of your lips, and then fill in completely. By using liner as a base, your color will wear longer and bolder. It helps prevent color from bleeding, too.
• Using a lip brush, apply lipstick. Start in the center, working out as you go. Fix any harsh lines or mistakes with a Q-tip.
• Splurgey choice: Back at Fashion Rocks in September, Leighton told me she loves Yves Saint Laurent lipstick. Try Rouge Volupté Lipstick in Extreme Coral or Red Muse ($34).
• Drugstore finds: Go with bright red-orange shades such as L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick Lipstick in Volcanic ($8.95) or Revlon Moon Drops Creme Lipstick in Hot Coral ($8.99).
