Kate Hudson Fashion Style

Filed under: Celebrities, Celebrity Fashioin, Fashion, Fashion News — Tags: — admin @ 10:34 pm

Kate Hudson Fashion Style. Lately I’m loving Kate Hudson’s range of hippy chic dresses. They look so comfy and easy to wear yet stylish enough for a fashionista to be seen in.

On sunday evening, Goldie’s daughter was dining out at Nobu in a casual white festival dress complete with slouchy brown shoulder bag, silver sandals and layered beaded necklaces. This look would be perfect for a summer festival or a day at the beach, but with her hair scraped back Kate makes the look evening appropriate.

I would have gone a little easier on the necklaces though!

The following day Kate sported a little colour whilst leaving the City Bakery in Brentwood. Her strapless red dress, with it’s cute embroidery and drawstring waist, looked really pretty for casual everyday wear.

Kate reused her cool slouchy bag from the night before but kept her hair down for a relaxed look.

It seems Kate’s inherited mum Goldie Hawn’s cute, laidback, girly style, and it’s working for her!

Hair Trends the Low Braid

Filed under: Beauty, Haircare, Hairstyles — Tags: — admin @ 7:31 pm

Hair Trends the Low Braid. Kate Hudson, low braid, hair, braid, hair braid, Kate Hudson braid, Kate Hudson low braidAs the heat of summer dies down and cooler temperatures will (hopefully) start coming our way, it’s time to think about some sophisticated, chic hairstyles to take us from one season to the next effortlessly. I’m totally into the look Kate Hudson is rocking at left. Her loose low braid, accented with side-swept bangs, is absolutely gorgeous. (It doesn’t hurt that her chandelier earrings and sparkly gown are to DIE.)

Now, I’ve been fascinated with braided hairstyles for quite some time. (Click here to check out my love of the side braid.) But this is such a unique take on the style that I simply have to focus on it this week! I love that Kate’s hair brings together two different hairstyles in such a unique way. The top of her hair is blown out into sleek, lustrous smoothness, and flows so elegantly into a simple braid that travels down her back. And rather than tying it off with a boldly hued clip or ponytail holder, there’s a simple holder that matches her hair. The end result? Absolute flawless perfection.

Curious about how to rock the look on your own? It’s super-easy to recreate this look! Read on to find out how you can style your hair into the low braid!

Aveda, Aveda Shampure, Aveda Shampure Shampoo, Shampure, Shampure Shampoo, shampoo, Aveda shampooFirst off, your tresses should be sleeker than sleek. Start with a shine-enhancing shampoo — I absolutely love Aveda Shampure Shampoo ($9.50 at aveda.com), which brings out shine like no other shampoo I’ve ever tried.

Next, you’ll want to get the shiniest blowout possible. And what better hairdryer to use than the T3 Bespoke Evolution T3, T3 Micro, T3 Bespoke Evolution, T3 Evolution, T3 Evolution Hairdryer, Evolution, Evolution Hairdryer, hairdryer, hair dryer, blowdryer, blowdryer, T3 blowdryer($300 at t3micro.com)? Whether you dry with a round brush or just your fingers, this hairdryer will get the job done. Of course, blowdrying with a round brush will get your locks to glisten and gleam — but if you’re short on time, this dryer will still accomplish that in only a few minutes!

Now for the fun part — the braid! You’ll want to gather your hair very loosely and split it into three wide sections. Starting at the nape of your neck, cross one section over the other — not too tightly, or the effect will be lost. The braid should be clean and finished — no pieces sticking out — but at the same time, don’t make it too polished or wound up!

Sephora, Sephora Snag-Free Hair Elastics, Sephora ponytail holder, Sephora hair elastics, hair, hair elastic, hair elastics, elastic, elastics, ponytail holder, ponytail holders, braid, low braidStop braiding about an inch from the bottom of your locks. Secure the braid with an elastic that matches your hair. The Sephora Snag-Free Hair Elastics ($3.50 each for a pack of 8 elastics at sephora.com) come in three different shades — Black, Brown and Clear — that will perfectly match most hair colors.

Ojon Shine and Protect Glossing Spray, Ojon, Shine and Protect Glossing Spray, glossing mist, glossing spray, hairFinish with a shine spray that will bring out even more gleam. One like Ojon Shine & Protect Glossing Mist ($28 at sephora.com), which is formulated with wildcrafted Ojon oil and a UV inhibitor to really keep those strands glossy. And voila! An easy to create low braid that is just so simple and chic!

The Best Body Scrubs to Use for Your Body

Filed under: Beauty — Tags: — admin @ 1:27 pm

The Best Body Scrubs to Use for Your Body . When I was younger, I didn’t really understand the power of exfoliation. Why would I want to rub a grainy product all over my body and experience little pops of pain every time I scrubbed too hard? But as I matured, I discovered just how wonderful a good scrub can be. Knobby knees? Gone. Dry elbows? Disappeared. Ashy calves? Seen no more. Well, I can now safely say that I AM HOOKED ON SCRUBS. I’ve tried more than I can even count — some of which work, some of which definitely don’t — and I’ve compiled a list of the ones you just seriously have to try.

Carol's Daughter, Carol's Daughter Sweet Honey Dip Chocolate Brown Sugah Scrub, body polish, body scrub, scrub, exfoliant, exfoliator, body exfoliant, body exfoliatorCarol’s Daughter Sweet Honey Dip Chocolate Brown Sugah Scrub ($34 at carolsdaughter.com): Mmm, chocolate. Trust me, that is the first thing you’ll think when you open up this tub. I immediately wanted to gobble down the scrub … I didn’t, though, so don’t worry! Once I got over my initial feeling of hunger, though, I really started to notice all the cool features of this particular scrub. First of all, I love the tub, which has a silver latch closure that gives it an ancient apothecary feel. The scrub itself is deliciously rich, laced with vanilla bean and brown sugar crystals to exfoliate your skin to your heart’s content. Plus, I love how soft my legs feel after using it! There’s absolutely no need for a moisturizer, as built-in natural oils will condition and nourish your skin. It’s choco-licious.

Klean, Klean Yuzu Sugar Body Polish, body polish, body scrub, scrub, exfoliant, exfoliator, body exfoliant, body exfoliatorKlean Yuzu Sugar Body Polish ($11.50 at kleanbathandbody.com): Pure unrefined Mexican cane sugar. Crushed lemon peel. Apricot kernel. Rice bran. It sounds like I’m getting ready for some sort of cooking class, doesn’t it? But no, I’m actually listing some of the ingredients found within this delightful scrub. The crystals are scented with the refreshingly exotic yuzu fruit, which upon smelling instantly makes me think of Japanese gardens. The scrub itself is packed tight, so that when you spread it over your skin it really works to slough away those dead skin cells. And with shea oil baked right into the formula, you’d better believe you’ll come out of the shower with the softest skin imaginable!

Chloe & Jane, Chloe & Jane Pure Sugar Body Polish, Citrus Chamomile, body polish, body scrub, scrub, exfoliant, exfoliator, body exfoliant, body exfoliatorChloe & Jane Pure Sugar Body Polish in Citrus Chamomile ($20 at chloeandjane.com): I don’t usually spend much time exfoliating my hands. I moisturize, of course, but I don’t really like to rub hard crystals all over my extremities — it just hurts too much! Luckily, this scrub is light enough for daily use and never maims my sensitive skin. I come away from each use with hands that are so soft and lush, they could be featured in hand-centric advertisements! And the light, relaxing scent is so amazing to boot — it’s perfect for use right before bedtime.

Ole Henriksen, Ole Henriksen Rub N Buff Salt Scrub, body polish, body scrub, scrub, exfoliant, exfoliator, body exfoliant, body exfoliatorOle Henriksen Rub ‘N Buff Salt Scrub ($48 at sephora.com): There are so many good features of this scrub, it’s hard to even know where to begin! First of all, the tub is HUGE. Like, so big it would take even the biggest scrub lover in the world about two years to get through the whole, whopping 28 ounces inside. Lavender and lemongrass oils keep skin super soft and smooth, and you won’t feel at all greasy or slick after massaging the scrub into your skin. Even the color is appealing — it’s a light seafoam green that just perks up any shower or tub instantly. Plus, I totally love the scent, which has a hint of minty-ness that revives and energizes me in the morning — perfect for those times when I haven’t gotten enough sleep and am basically still sleeping through my shower!

Frederic Fekkai, Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Body Polishing Moisture Scrub, Fekkai, body polish, body scrub, scrub, exfoliant, exfoliator, body exfoliant, body exfoliator, shea butter, sheaFrederic Fekkai Shea Butter Body Polishing Moisture Scrub ($28.50 at nordstrom.com): I heart shea butter. It’s honestly one of my all-time favorite ingredients in a beauty product, since when you use it, you’re pretty much guaranteed to come away with uber-silky skin. And this scrub is no different. The grains are enclosed within a creamy, almost body wash-esque texture that feels so wonderful rubbed into the skin. Jojoba wax beads and apricot seeds are perfect for polishing and buffing your skin to a high gleam, while Vitamin B moisturizes and conditions. Plus, it’s contained in a slender tube instead of an unwieldy tub — so it fits perfectly in any shower caddy or along any tub wall!

Sarah Michelle Sets the Trends for Fall

Sarah Michelle Sets the Trends for Fall. Sarah Michelle Gellar wore a stylish black long-length waistcoat over a long white vest and black leggins whilst out and about shopping in NYC earlier this month.

I love her accessories, the white beaded necklace and oversized sunnies but I think she could have done better than wellies i the foot department! Stylish black boots would have looked much better and not like she was off to work on a farm…..

Fall Fashion: Luxe Lace Accents

Filed under: Fashion, Fashion News — Tags: — admin @ 8:28 pm

Fall Fashion: Luxe Lace Accents. We are not quite into fall yet, but let’s start getting prepared early. Yes, I know diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but so is lace. What accentuates your breasts and your butt better? With both a sexy and mysterious look, lace has always been part of a vixen’s attire. But, I’m not talking about lingerie lace this time around. I’m talking about the lace that’s been seen all over the runways, peeking out from underneath skirts, and even wrapping ankle boots. There are so many designers creating lace looks for fashions other than undergarments. I know it’s a look worth flaunting when one of my favorite designers, Valentino, starts incorporating the lace look. It’s not the first time lace has been in introduced in the fashion world, but it’s the first time lace has grown on me.

Many different shades of lace popped up on the fall runways, but no matter what color there was a rich use of lace incorporated within this year’s fall fashions. This season, when you wear a lace dress no one will think you’re wearing your slip out– it absolutely justified!

I personally prefer hints of lace when putting an outfit together, but I have chosen several different kinds of lace clothing that you may enjoy. There is something is so sexy about a knee length skirt or dress that shows a hint of lace-trimmed slip peeking out. Speaking of such attire, I found a great Diane von Furstenberg ‘Finola’ Dress [top left] that does just that. The dress overall is very sensual, giving that girly-girl impression, but the hint of lace peeking out at the bottom gives it the edge it’s otherwise lacking.

Karta Lace Tank Dress
Karta Lace Tank Dress

The next dress I found is also by Diane von Furstenberg, but it’s got a lot more lace incorporated on the top and the bottom of the dress. The Diane von Furstenberg ‘Olivette’ Dress is more suitable for the fall months because of its heavier material. It has a raw-edged, lacy look. It is princess seamed, and I love how she used a black lace with the gray dress. The low back gives it a sassy look, great for a cocktail party.

My next choice is a babydoll dress that can be used as a top with some cute jeans during the colder weather. There aren’t many left of the Arden B. Babydoll Lace Trim Tunic, but it’s very cute. It’s got lace in a few spots and it’s a sexy addition to any pants, or it can be worn solo for the bold and beautiful women out there.

Although we are moving into fall, I fell in love with this white Karta Lace Tank Dress [right]. The fact that it’s white grabbed my attention and makes me want to purchase it now so I can wear it before the hot weather wears off. The dress features floral-patterned lace, and it’s fully lined– don’t worry! It is a very straight silhouette, so there are certain body types that may be able to show off this dress better than others.

Lastly, I found a very simple and elegant lace dress by JS Boutique. It’s a lace sheath dress– the lace overlays a satin dress. The dress is absolutely stunning. I love the white/black color combination. The adjustable satin belt cinches the waist, helping you create a sexy hourglass figure. And out of all the dresses mentioned, it is the most affordable.

Miuccia Prada, caught backstage at Milan’s Fall Fashion Week 2008, described her own unexplainable relationship with lace. “I still don’t understand why I like lace– but it is such an accompaniment of women, through childhood, marriage, and being a widow,” said Prada. That seems to capture the allure of lace perfectly.
