Mineralize Eyeshadow duos from MAC

Mineralize Eyeshadow duos from MAC.
Sorry for the dearth in posting this week my dears. Life sometimes gets in the way of blogging and this weekend, orchestrating a move into my new home had me focussed on other more pressing tasks. That said, a move turns one’s life into chaos, and nowhere is this more evident than with my beauty stash, which is for the most part, packed up in non-descript cardboard boxes. So while I had a hard time tracking down some of my makeup bag must-haves, I discovered at the top of the box heap, like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, one of the surprisingly tame Mineralize Eyeshadow duos from MAC, in a not-so-scary neutral called Love Connection. And they just happen to be some of my favorite shadow shades to wear. While the left side looks kind of pinky in the pan, it actually goes on as the softest, shimmery champagne-lavender, and the other side is a deeper irridescent gold shade – perfect for shading in the crease. And it looks like I’m not the only one coveting this shade; it’s sold out online, but I’m sure you can still find it in stores.

Garnier Eye Roll-on Review

Filed under: Beauty — Tags: — admin @ 9:31 am

Garnier Eye Roll-on Review.  What with all of the air-brushed, picture perfect models gazing at you from the pages of every fashion glossy, looking good isn’t an option these days, it’s simply a necessity. We know deep down that these models don’t really have such perfect skin, but we still strive to recreate that flawless look. I don’t know about you, but with all the stresses and strains of daily city living, the hardest flaws to disguise are the dark circles around my eyes. But now Garnier have designed the ultimate tired eye revival product called Garnier Eye Roll-on, and I got to test it out first hand.

garnier_280708.jpg

Enriched with caffeine, this cooling moisturiser hydrates and refreshes your eyes in such a way that it really does make your skin look instantly brighter. The small silver massage ball is a great unique feature and is often used by experts to encourage micro-circulation and drainage around the eye contours – and it works, my dark circles were diminished and I didn’t even have to use a pound of concealer!

Garnier Eye Roll-on is even the perfect size for your handbag so that you can use it on the go. The great thing about this product is that the cooling gel formula doesn’t remove your make-up, which makes it stand out amongst other competing products.

This eye gel is great for everyday use, but it doesn’t have long lasting results - you’ll have to use it every day if you want to keep looking bright-eyed and beautiful. I will definitely be keeping this product in my make-up bag, though. Goodbye coffee, I’ve found my new pick-me-up.

More Cute Pieces for the Fall to Start Finding Now

Filed under: Fashion, Fashion News — Tags: — admin @ 8:04 am

More Cute Pieces for the Fall to Start Finding Now. I don’t know if you notice…but, a lot of the things that go on sale for the spring can be used for the fall…I got a fab pair of patent peep toe heels from Nine West for only $23 and I definitely plan on wearing them this fall…here are a couple of styles to look out for now that you can wear during the fall.Mui Mui Bags are a dreamy must have for our closets ladies…Mui Mui has the best shoes and handbags a girl could ask for…if only our bank accounts held enough cashola to afford all of these dreamy necessities for a girl.
Peep toe booties are perfect for now or fall and very sexy with jeans or a sexy pencil skirt.
I am now and have been since around the summer of 2006 a fan of high waisted jeans…it still hasn’t caught on really…but, I LOVE them and wear my Karen Walker jeans with pride and I always seem to get compliments on them, even though I still haven’t seen anyone run and buy them either:)

Get away from the basics and go for a ruched white tee…who really goes for the old rule that white can’t be worn after Labor day anyway? A lot of people don’t know what “ruching” is…it is: “Ruching (pronounced ROOSHING — ‘roo’ rhymes with ‘who’) is a French word which means to plait. A strip of fabric or ribbon is gathered in a repeat pattern and as the gathering thread is drawn up the strip forms scallops or petals.”

Fall Hair Trend The Heidi Braid

Fall Hair Trend The Heidi Braid. A perennial style classic, beloved of eternal girl-child icons the world over (think Kirsten Dunst, Mary-Kate and, well, Lolita) the ”Heidi braid” has me utterly enchanted this summer. A playful reminder of childhood days and ribbons, of girls who don’t take life or fashion too seriously, girlish and whimsical without being overtly feminine it is the only hairstyle that will do right now.

Scattered on A/W 08 runways everywhere from Margaret Howell to Yohji Yamamoto, there is something endearingly scrappy about messy braids. Perfect for scraping unruly hair off your face for flustered summer days, plaits and braids will always be offbeat chic in a ‘ballerina in the library’ sort of way.

Filed under: Beauty, Makeup — Tags: — admin @ 9:18 pm

Lancome Daria Collection. The Daria Collection of Lancome has officially been launched this week. The collection consists of an eye shadow palette, a lipstick and a lipgloss.

Makeupminute reports that the Daria Collection is a gorgeous blend of Brazilian earthy tones – it just makes you feel the sand between your toes, the air as it passes through your hair at the beach, the heat from the glistening sun.

Lancome is donating a portion of the proceeds from this collection to Centro Espacial Vik Muniz, an education program that supports arts education programs for young adults in Rio de Janeiro.

According to diunSA, this bold, new collection isn’t just dedicated to making women look good – but rather, to make them feel good too.

The color statement of the collection’s ‘Brazilian Earth Colours,’ is natural and sophisticated. Sun-kissed browns, natural nudes and warm golds naturally enhance the beauty of the face’s most sensual features - the lips and eyes.

The Daria Collection from Lancome is available for sale in online stores with a retail price of $45.

Donna Karan International Launches A New Line

Filed under: Fashion, Fashion News — Tags: — admin @ 5:13 pm

Donna Karan International Launches A New Line. Donna Karan International launches a new line of jeans called DKNYC. With this new line, the company wants to keep the urban feel of its products, but to make it more casual and more conducive.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Donna Karan International works to make an aggressive push into markets like Asia and the Middle East.

In addition to having a few strong seasons at retail under its belt, parent Donna Karan International has been working to update and improve its network of licenses, and to make an aggressive push into markets like Asia and the Middle East.

According to Shiny Style, the new line will be similar in concept to the City DKNY line launched in 2001 but shuttered in 2005.

Donna Karan International is ready to add a new label to its stable of brands: DKNYC, a better sportswear label with price points similar to the current DKNY jeans range.

Donna Karan is quoted commenting on this new line.

“That’s what New York City is — complicated, multidimensional … As I see it, the C stands for circa. It’s Circa DKNY, from its original core concept, when it was really intended for a much wider level. The current success of DKNY opened up the doors to be able to expand.”

The DKNYC line will be available in July at stores like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor and Dillard’s with items having retail prices of $100 to $150 for outerwear, $70 to $100 for jackets, $40 to $55 for pants, skirts or shirts, $40 to $80 for sweaters and $25 to $45 for T-shirts.

Kate Holmes new hair: short cropped bob

Kate Holmes new hair: short cropped bob. Looking at 2008’s hair trends, crops and bobs are definitely up there. But first impressions of Katie Holmes’ new hair style aren’t all kind.

Katie Holmes hairstyle - short cropped bob

A bobbed style with a very deep fringe, Katie’s new shorter cut is looking a tad boyish and un-glamorous. But on these angles, so are most things. We’ll reserve judgment for when we see some more snaps.

Hair trends: Hayden Panettiere gets a bob

Hair trends: Hayden Panettiere gets a bob. It’s one of this year’s biggest hair trends. Stemming from last year’s ‘pob’ but branching out in a variety of ways, yes, it’s the bob. Hayden Panettiere is the latest starlet to chop her blonde locks into a chin-length concave bob.

I’m loving this look on her and it does make her look a little bit older .

Tarte Blush Review (Cheek Stains)

Filed under: Beauty, Makeup — Tags: — admin @ 9:00 am

Tarte Blush Review (Cheek Stains). Tarte Blush Review (Cheek Stains). As most of my readers know I’m always on the hunt for a good blush. So far the best that I have found comes from Nars but Tarte now comes in as a close second. Last week I tried the Tarte Cheek Stain Blush Blushing Bride. I tend to wear Mineral Makeup since I have oily skin and I have found that Gel Blush lasts so long on oily complexions and truth be told it lasts all day. There was no need for touchups which is a big thing for oily skin.

Tarte Blush comes in many different yummy flavors and they smell so good, but you don’t have to worry about breakouts since there are so many vitamins its good for your skin and the environment. For the most natural Tarte flush to your cheeks there are many different ways you can apply it. Take your Tarte Blush and apply it directly to your cheeks, use a sponge , or dab the product on with your fingers. Which ever works best for you. If you wear Mineral Makeup like me the best way to apply is with a brush, slowly dip your brush into the blush and tap it over your cheeks for a flawless finish. You’ll blush naturally all day long.
